    Apprenticeship Indenture:William Webb son of Zilpah Webb of Steeple Clayton in the County of Buckingham, widow (by and with the consent of his said mother testified by her sealing and delivering these presents), apprentice to Henry Rock West of Woburn, saddler and collar & harness maker. From the 17th day of February now last past for the term of six years or until the said apprentice shall attain the age of twenty one years. Henry Rock West for and in consideration of the sum of forty pounds paid to him by the said Zilpah Webb on or before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged His said apprentice in the art of a saddler and collar & harness maker which he useth by the best means that he can shall teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed finding unto the said apprentice sufficient meat drink lodging and washing of aprons during the said term. And the said Zilpah Webb doth hereby covenant and promise to find and provide for the said apprentice sufficient and proper clothes washing and all other necessaries (except meat drink lodging and washing of aprons which are to be provided by the said Henry Rock West as aforesaid) during all the said term. Signed: William Webb; Zilpah Webb; Henry Rock West. Receipt for £40 on dorse signed by Henry Rock West and witnessed by William Harland and William Sinfield, Clerks to Mr Green, Solicitor, Woburn. With loose note: I the undersigned Henry Rock West hereby undertake and promise to entertain William Webb (this day bound apprentice to me) at my own table and in all other respects to treat him as one of my family.
