- Scope and ContentApprenticeship Indenture: William Franklin son of Henry Franklin of Hawnes [Haynes] gamekeeper, apprentice to Joseph Hurley of Woburn, plumber, glazier & painter. From the 2 April last past for the term of seven years or until the apprentice shall attain the age of 21 years. Joseph Hurley in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds to be paid to him by the said Henry Franklin on or before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt thereof he doth hereby acknowledge His said apprentice in the art of a plumber, glazier & painter which he useth by the best means that he can shall teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed finding unto the said apprentice sufficient meat drink and lodging during the said term. Henry Franklin doth hereby agree with the doth herby covenant and agree to find and provide for his said son proper sufficient wearing apparel washing and all other necessaries (except meat drink and lodging which are to be provided by the said Joseph Hurley as aforesaid) during all the said term.
