- Scope and ContentApprenticeship Indenture: Richard Gibbs son of Hannah Gibbs of Fenny Stratford in the parish of Bletchley in the county of Buckingham, widow, apprentice to James Lucas of Simpson, butcher. From the date hereof for the term of two years. James Lucas in consideration of the sum of ten pounds to be paid to him by the said Hannah Gibbs at or before the sealing and delivery hereof (the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge) His said apprentice in the art or trade of a butcher which he useth by the best means that he can shall teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed finding unto the said apprentice sufficient meat drink and lodging during the said term. Hannah Gibbs doth hereby agree to find and provide all and all manner of clothes washing mending and all other necessaries for her said son (except meat drink and lodging) during all the said term. Signed & sealed: Richard Gibbs; Hannah Gibbs; James Lucas. Witnesses: Benjamin Lucas of Fenny Stratford; William Harland, clerks to Mr Day, Attorney at Law of Woburn. Receipt on dorse for £10 signed by James Lucas.
