    Apprenticeship Indenture: Sarah Day of Fenny Stratford apprentice to Thomas Berry and Sarah his wife of Woburn, milliner and dressmaker. Sarah Day by and with the consent of Mary Day (of Fenny Stratford in the County of Buckingham, mantua maker) doth hereby agree to and with Thomas Berry and Sarah his wife of Woburn that she the said Sarah day shall and will from the twenty fourth day of April now last past to the full end and term of two years…serve the said Thomas Berry and Sarah his wife under the direction and control of the said Sarah wife of Thomas Berry as an assistant and for improvement in the art or trade of a milliner and dress maker in all its branches. Sarah Day shall and will during the said term well and faithfully serve demean and behave herself towards the said Thomas Berry and Sarah his wife as such assistant accordingly. Thomas Berry and Sarah his wife in consideration of the sum of Thirty pounds to them in hand paid by the said Mary Day at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Thomas Berry and Sarah his wife do hereby acknowledge…and agree to and with the said Mary Day her executors and administrators to accept the said Sarah Day as their assistant as aforesaid in the said trade of a Milliner and Dress Maker and to employ her at times in the shop so as to learn or improve her in the Trade of Business as carried on by the said Thomas Berry under the direction of the said Sarah his wife. Thomas Berry and Sarah his wife according to the best of their power skill and knowledge shall and will during the said term of two years teach instruct or cause to be taught or instructed the said Sarah Day in the said trade of a milliner and dress maker and in all things whatsoever incident or belonging thereto…and will find and allow unto the said Sarah Day sufficient meat drink and lodging during the said term. Mary Day for herself and the said Sarah Day her daughter doth agree with the said Thomas Berry and Sarah his wife that she the said Mary Day shall and will find and provide her said daughter Sarah Day with all manner of clothes wearing apparel linen washing mending and all other necessaries during the said term (except her board and lodging).
