- Scope and Content(Translated) My Lord, I am infinitely obliged to Mr Pelham in that he has given me the pleasure of receiving news of Y[our] E[xcellency] and the tokens of your remembrance which are so dear to me. You can count on me My Lord to do all in my power to make known to Mr Pelham the value I put on your recommendation. The life of retirement which I have led for some time and my family circumstances scarcely allow me to be useful to him in town but as soon as he counts on spending some little time here, I hope that the summer will furnish the opportunity to show him our Province and at the same time to have a more particular acquaintance with him. In the meantime, I can assure you that he could not have made a better beginning here and he has already attracted the respect of all who have had the pleasure of seeing him. I have the honour to be, with the most constant and respectful friendship My Lord, Y.E. very humble very and obedient servant, de Perron
