The London Gazette, Friday 6 November 1863. Pg 5256 advises the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace has provisionally ordered the following changes to the Highway Districts: - the parish of Humbershoe is to be added to the Luton Highway District, - the parishes of Hill and Upper and Lower Caldecote are to be added to the Biggleswade highway District, - Beeston and Thorncote were to be merged to create a Highway parish under the Biggleswade District, - Girtford and Rowney were to be subtracted from the Biggleswade District, - removal of Holwell and Lower Stondon from the Biggleswade Highway District and its addition to the Woburn District.
