    James Odell: a chimney sweep of High Town. He held a piece of garden ground at High Town. On 5 November he had sacks in his garden. They were cut open. One was thrown on his cart and the other hung against the stable door. On 6 November they were both gone. He saw them safe about 4pm and missed them the following morning. Frederick Parrott: was at his fathers at the Heron on the 6 or 7 November. About 7am the prisoner brought the sacks and he gave him 1 shilling for them. He gave them up to Sergeant Smith. Sergeant George Smith: he received the sacks from Frederick Parrott and charged the prisoner with stealing them. The prisoner denied any knowledge of them. Statement of the accused: he knew nothing at all about it.
