- Scope and ContentRichard Jones of Turvey, schoolmaster - on Saturday 11 August he went near to Mr Finch’s butcher’s shop in Turvey. He saw a woman in the shop. He went into the shop and saw the woman coming along with a piece of pork. When she saw him she laid it down behind the safe and left the shop. Mr Finch’s son came in at the same time. The piece of pork was salted. He told Mr Finch’s son what he had seen. He went to the woman Sarah Burden who denied that she had accused him of taking it and confessed that she took it. Sarah Burden - “I come to own my fault and to beg pardon. I did not intend to steal it.” Joseph Finch of Turvey, butcher - on 11 August he had a piece of salt pork hanging in his father’s shop. Hearing some information he went into the shop and found Mr Jones and Sarah Burden. He saw the piece of pork lying on the table. The pork weighed 3 or 4 lbs.
