(Mr I J O’Dell)] close, in Hardwick); Owners and occupiers adjoining: Richard Norton, Luke Brasier, Nicholas Denton, George Foster, Mr Halpenny, Widow Brasier; Witnesses: William _iller, Luke Brasier, Richard Field (mark) *[Now called Coombs (information from Mr I J O’Dell, 4 Jan 1960) Cf Welsh cwm. He writes (6 Jan 1960):- Woodmarsh: still so-called; field now covered partly by Messrs Jane’s joinery works and partly by tipped material. It was the “airport” during the 1939-45 war. Cf. Ramsey cartulary, i, 474, Wodemers, c.1175-1200. Peverill: cf. op.cit, iii, 212, 221, William Peveril holds ½ hide in Barton; Robert holds 1 virg. and 12 acres “extra hydam” and pays 2s..6d per annum Buckworth: still exists (present recreation ground) Dunstal: built over Newland: lies to the west of Brook End Green farm and would seem to perpetuate the breaking up of hitherto uncultivated land. residue: not known or remembered]
