    Recites: Mortgage, 4 August 1787, 500 years, £400 [see also BS 1794 - 1799]: Thomas Estwick to Richard Farnell. Amongst other hereditaments: - a messuage or farmhouse called Brayes, with home close or orchard; - Long Close, adjoining a lane near thereto (2 acres); - Taylors alias Cookes Close, near Joseph Milton’s (1/2 acre); - Bryer Ridding Close, adjoining Long Close on east side (2 acres 3 roods); - Piece of New inclosed land in Bryer Ridding, Ladycroft and South fields (52 acres 1 rood 1 perch), Joseph Churchill north and west, Lordship of Colmworth east, William Milton south, the lane in Bolnhurst on part of west. All then in the occupation of George Huckle. That £415 is now due from Thomas Estwick to Richard Farnell on the security recited; That Reverend William Pagett has contracted with Thomas Estwick to purchase for £550 the fee simple and inheritance of the messuage or farmhouse, closes, lands and hereditaments recited in and part of the premises comprised in the aforesaid Mortgage, £415 of the purchase money to be paid to Richard Farnell in full discharge of principal and interest owing to him; The purchase money has now been paid; Now conveyed: - Brayes Farm with Closes and lands as recited, except that Isaac Averne is now on part of west and part of south, and an inclosure of Thomas Estwick on another part of west, of the new inclosed land. The new inclosed part was vested in Thomas Estwick by an Inclosure Act 'lately passed ... in lieu of all his estate within the open and unenclosed lands within the Town Fields and Wood End Inship in the Manor and Parish of Bolnhurst'. All in the occupation of William Pagett and George Huckle, and all late the estate of Susanna, formerly Knight, wife of Thomas Estwick, and settled by her upon him. On Dorse: Assignment of Term of 500 years in trust to attend the Inheritance: (i) Thomas Barringer (ii) Sir William Bensley, baronet, Thomas Druce and William Pagett; trustees of the will of William Pagett, since deceased (iii) John Hele of Charlotte Street, Rathbone Place, Middlesex (iv) William Meredith of Harley Place, St Marylebone, Middlesex, esquire, trustee of John Hele. Recites: Lease and Release, 5,6 August 1803, £2492: (i) Sir William Bensley, baronet, Thomas Druce and William Pagett; trustees of the will of William Pagett, since deceased (ii) Reverend Robert Hele Selby Hele, Rector of Colmworth, Bedfordshire (iii) John Hele of Charlotte Street, Rathbone Place, Middlesex. Reciting: Mortgage, 4 August 1787, as recited within BS 1810. In pursuance of a Decree wherby the property was sold to the said Robert Hele Selby Hele as agent and trustee for John Hele for possession thereof (amongst other hereditamants), the said term of 500 years being confirmed to William Meredith in trust for John Hele to attend the Inheritance.
