    to wife Judith, for life or widowhood, messuage and lands in Girtford, Sandy, Everton, Tempsford, in occupation Thomas Adkins alias Wright, called “Clarkes farm”; purchased of Mrs Bromsall* or her trustees, Mr Lee and Mr Pecke; then to sons Richard and Samuel equally; also a cottage in Sandy in occupation Widow Thomas (see below); to son Richard Mill Mead alias the Shadwells, 2 acres (cf.PM611-638); and £25 left him by testator’s father; to son Samuel copyhold cottage in Girtford in occupation William Collop and William Freeman; and 6 acres meadow purchased therewith, now in own occupation; also £40; to son John copyhold messuage in Girtford in own occupation; 8 acres in the common fields of Girtford and Sandy enjoyed therewith; 1 acre purchased by itself in Sandy Field; ½ acre “purchased of Allen or my father”; Long close, 2½ acres, Girtford; Swan Inn, Girtford, with close, in occupation Widow Thomas (see above) to wife for life or widowhood “the living in the parlour and chamber over it at the W. end of the house wherein I now dwell, with liberty of the yard and pump and other necessaries”; to son John £25 left him by testator’s father; reversionary legatee: eldest son Francis; Witnesses: Edward Rolt, John Parker, Richard Lee *endorsed: note of purchase 28, 29 October 1701, Mary Bromsall to Francis Bishop, includes Stratford close.
