... 2 cottages and close of 3 acres, one late in occupation Thomas Blain, now Benjamin Moore, the other John Skilliter; 4 acres in the common fields in:- in Down Field: on Girtford backside, abutting W. on Mill lane, in Gullbrook, abutting W. on the king’s highway; in Low Field in Hogsdale furlong; in Middle Field on Sun furlong, Downells furlong, Belland furlong; owners and occupiers adjoining: late Mr Pullyn, William Pym, Reverend Mr Monoux, Samuel Sandon, late John Skilleter, John Grey, late John Richardson, now Thomas Squire, late Robert Jenkyn; all now in occupation John Knott and William Randall; formerly the estate of John and Ann Thomas, since Robert Gardener; and 1731 conveyed by Thomas Haggis and Alice (devisee of Robert Gardner) to Thomas and Elizabeth Blain; Recites the will of Thomas Blain; also 24, 25 October 1727 one cottage purchased by Thomas Blain from Joseph and Sarah Knott; the other long since erected by Thomas Blain on part of the close; Witnesses: Elizabeth Talbot, Theophilus Briggs
