    Luton Methodist Circuit [MB1/LU1] was divided into Luton North and Luton South Circuits [MB1/LS] as from September 1965. The dividing line is the railway line - those to the east of it became the North Circuit with St Margarets as the main church, and those to the west of the line became the South Circuit with Beech Hill as the main church. Luton North and Luton South were replaced in 1987 by a second combined Luton circuit [MB1/LU2]. Chapels in Luton North circuit: Barton-le-Clay (former Wesleyan); Bendish; Cockernhoe; Gravenhurst; Leagrave, Marsh Road; Luton Central Mission (closed 1966); Luton, High Town; Luton, Montrose Avenue; Luton, Round Green; Shillington, Bury End; Shillington, High Road; Stopsley (closed 1974).
