Details given: Recites Probate Will, 12 October 1751 [see BS 1578]. That Alice Brandreth, after paying £200 each to Henry's sisters Ann Brandreth [later Duncombe], Alice Newton and Mary Brandreth, invested the residue in £2075 of 3% Consolidated Bank Annuities; That Alice Brandreth died April 1772, having appointed Rebecca executrix of her will proved 20 August 1772; That Rebecca died 22 July 1779, having appointed said Thomas [Baskerfield] executor of her will, dated 3 May 1772 [see BS 1579]. That Ann Duncombe died before Rebecca, leaving children Brandreth, of Fleet Street, London, druggist and chemist, and John, of Lincoln's Inn, gentleman; That Alice Newton died before Rebecca, leaving child Mary Bassett; that Mary Brandreth married Samuel Doddington of Eastbury, Somerset, esquire, and survived Rebecca; Marriage settlement, 6 November 1769. Assignment: (i) Mary Newton (ii) William Bassett (iii) John Dale and Ann Binckes. Marriage of Mary Newton and William Bassett: £400 to Mary for life, then to her younger children. Reciting that by will of Henry [Brandreth] [see BS 1578], Mary was entitled to a legacy of £600; That John Dale and Ann Binckes as trustees and William in right of his wife became entitled to one-third share of the £2075 Consolidated Bank Annuities but not to the said legacy of £600 which was stated by a mistake, now acknowledged, to belong to Mary. That therefore, at the request of the parties to the before-recited marriage settlement, Thomas has on even date assigned two equal parts of the said one-third share to John and Ann as trustees and the remaining one part to William in right of his wife.
