    Details given: Recites act of Parliament 2 George III, which was passed to reduce into one act the several laws now in being relating to the militia; and provides for the issue of commissions of lieutenancy; such lieutenants having power to call persons together and arm and array them; and appoint approved deputy-lieutenants; and a proper number of colonels, lieutenant-colonels, majors and other officers to train and discipline the persons chosen by lot in sub-divisions of the county to serve in the militia. The names of officers to be certified to the king within one month of appointment and subject to his approval.
