    Abstract of Title of the devisees in trust of the late John Abbot, deceased, to five cottages or tenements and a field of garden ground at Pulloxhill [annotated: “look through this WJA”] and headed Lot 8 Headed “Supplemental Abstract annexed” Abstracting (I) indenture of conveyance by release of 1 September 1848 Parties: (i) Andrew Hamilton of Ampthill, surgeon; (ii) Sarah Abbot of Ruxox, Flitwick, widow; (iii) Robert Adams of Bradwell Abbey [Buckinghamshire], farmer; (iv) William Harland of Woburn, stationer Reciting: - the will of John Abbot of Flitwick dated 28 November 1846; - proviso in the will that if either trustee died or refused to act a substitute might be appointed; - on creation of a new trustee all trust estates should be conveyed to the new and existing trustee; - death of John Abbot the testator; - renunciation of trusteeship by (i); - proof of the will of John Abbot by (ii) Operative Part: - (i) renounced trusteeship; - (ii) appointed (iii) in place of (i); - (i) released all real estate of John Abbot to (ii) and (iii) in trust; - (i) assigned the personal estate of John Abbot deceased to (iv) in trust to perform the deed poll beneath (II) Deed poll of 2 September 1848 by William Harland assigning the personal estate of John Abbot, deceased to Sarah Abbot and Robert Adams as trustees (III) X979/1/1 (IV) Mortgage by demise for 1,000 years of 2 June 1798 Parties: (i) Judith Adams of Pulloxhill, widow, late Judith Abbot, executrix and devisee for life of John Abbot, deceased; John Abbot of Harlington, farmer, eldest son of John Abbot, deceased; Jonathan Abbot of Pulloxhill, yeoman, son of John Abbot, deceased; (ii) Stephen Brooks of Clophill, butcher Operative Part: - (i) borrowed £100 with interest from (ii) secured on (a)-(c) Property: (a) manor house or lordship house of Pulloxhill in the occupation of John Morchen, Henry Day, Joseph Neal, John Cain, Thomas Neal and Elizabeth Squire and Richard Barnard; (b) trees growing on the Green before the manor house within five yards of the wall with liberty for (ii) to plant within that distance new trees for his own use; (c) two leys of land containing three acres in Fryer Herne, Pulloxhill abutting: S on land of Marchioness Grey; N on land of Marchioness Grey; SE on land of Saint John the Baptist’s Hospital, Bedford (V) Bond from Judith Adams and John Abbot to Stephen Brooks that Jonathan Abbot, then a minor, would execute the mortgage when of age (VI) Receipt endorsed on (IV): “received the 2nd of September 1803 of Mrs. Judith Adams and Mr. John Abbot the sum of one hundred pounds being the whole of this mortgage with all interest due to this day. As witness my hand £100 Thomas Brooks, executor to the late Stephen Brooks” (VII) X979/1/2 (VIII) X979/1/3 (IX) X979/1/4 (X) X979/1/5 (XI) X979/1/6 (XII) X979/1/13 (XIII) X979/1/14 (XIV) Will of John Abbot of Flitwick, farmer, of 28 November 1846: - reciting that, with his brother Jonathan, he had contracted for the purchase of his brother’s half share of an estate in Pulloxhill; - devising land in Harlington and all his real estate in Maulden and Pulloxhill to his wife, Sarah and Andrew Hamilton of Ampthill, surgeon upon trust to complete the purchase from his brother Jonathan and with power to sell the land at Maulden and Pulloxhill; - proof of will in PCC on 8 March 1848 by Sarah Abbot alone
