(ii) Jonathan Abbot of Pulloxhill, farmer and Mary, his wife;
(iii) Beatrice Abbot of Pulloxhill, spinster;
(iv) Edward Horley of Long Lane, Toddington, yeoman (trustee for John Abbot)
Reciting:
- X979/1;
- the death of John Abbot in March 1791;
- proof of his will on 7 May 1791;
- the deaths of Mary and Charlotte Abbot in the lifetime of their mother Judith, unmarried and intestate;
- the death of Judith Abbot in March 1811;
- the residue of John Abbot’s estate had been valued by Robert Furze of Ampthill, appraiser and auctioneer, Henry Whitbread of Silsoe, yeoman and Robert Arnold of Ampthill, yeoman at £600 for the real estate and £772/12/6 for the personal estate;
- the real and personal estate was to be divided as the will of John Abbot stated two fifths to (i), two fifths to (ii) and one fifth to (iii);
- (i) had contracted to purchase (ii)’s share of (a)-(f) for £240 and (iii)’s one fifth share of (a)-(f) for £120;
- (i) wished to convey (a)-(f) to trusts
Operative Part:
- (i) gave £240 to (ii);
- (i) gave £120 to (iii);
- (iv) paid 10/- each to (i), (ii) and (iii);
- (ii) and (ii), at the request of (i), released (a) to (iv)
Property:
(a) manor house or lordship house of Pulloxhill commonly called the Great House in Fryer Herne, Pulloxhill now divided into five tenements in the occupation of John Morchen, (ii), William Fowler, John Parker and John Haines;
(b) cottage formerly in the occupation of Richard Huckle Taylor, now of Joseph Neal;
(c) cottage formerly in the occupation of formerly in the occupation of Joseph Neal, now of Joseph Jones;
(d) cottage formerly in the occupation of Luke Lord, now of Francis Olney;
(e) cottage lately made out of a barn and dovehouse belonging to (a) now in the occupation of George Reynolds;
(f) land containing two roods, sixteen perches in North Field, Pulloxhill, in the occupation of John Abbot and taken in exchange with Amabel, Baroness Lucas, for land allotted at the inclosure of Flitton, Pulloxhill and Silsoe which was allotted in lieu of two acres of land called Fryers Herne
Habendum:
- to the trusts appointed by (i); to the use of (i) for his life, to the use of (iv) during the life of (i) in trust for (i) and in order to bar dower, to the use of (i) for ever
