Deposition - William Lineham charged with assaulting and beating Elizabeth Lineham

Elizabeth Lineham, wife of William Linham of Turvey, labourer – she was at home that morning when her husband came in, damned her, hit her several times over the head with his fist and knocked her head against the wall. He then hit her across the thigh and across her leg with an iron rod and made great bruises in both places. He has often struck her before.
