    ... 13 acres in Austrett Field called the Bratch, abutting E. on the procession balk, W. on the Berry Bratch, S. on the common Bratch, N. on the procession balk; 1 rood in same Field on Kynwicke broadway furlong, abutting E. on Kynwick broadway; 1 rood in Chester Field abutting E. on the common hills, W. on Syresholme; recites:- 8 August 1567: lease for 500 years, rent per annum 22s; Edmund Cosyn, clerk, B.D., to Thomas Cater of Sandy, husbandman, and Cater’s wife Mary (sister of Cosyn) and sons Joshua and Edmund ...all his lands lately belonging to the manor of Girtford, lying divided in Sandy and Girtford; formerly let by Robert, prior of Cauldwell, and the convent, to Richard Cater late of Sandy, 1 January 1515/6; then occupied by Thomas son of Richard Cater; and purchased by Edmund Cosyn of John Burgoyne of Dunton, esquire.
