The boy has been 3 years at West Grinstead. The mother is not a good woman, and the boy is not to have communication with her privately. The nuns at Loughborough have taken the case in had as the family will do nothing. The boy has been staying with an uncle (Protestant) at Bristol who however has no objection to the boy being brought up a Catholic as long as he is kept from the mother’s influence. Sister Mary Philippine will provide clothes if needed. Uncle’s address – 32 Pennywell Road, Bristol, but he will not pay anything.
