    whereas: ii) deserted by her husband George and by an order 2 November 1861 under provisions of Act of Parliament 20/21 Victoria c.85 ii) because will be placed in the same position whereas: since date of said Order ii), acquired money and wants to invest surplus of earnings whereas: Building Society allows investment under provisions of Act of parliament 6/7 William IV “An Act for the regulation of Benefit Building Societies” whereas: ii) entitled to receive £175 of whole share and ¾ of share in Society whereas: Directors agreed to advance to ii) by payment to i) of £135 for purchase of said hereditaments and to advance to ii) £40 with interest of 5% if unpaid The Indenture witnesseth: In consideration of £135, for the absolute purchase of hereditaments to i) and £40 to ii). (grant to said Trustees iv) above) ... all that land with 2 cottages erected with barns, etc., in Great Barford (one in occupation of Thomas Field, and since by William Goodman, now by James Heal; other in occupation of Thomas Thody, Mr Cross, William Chapman, now by Thomas Robinson N. property formerly of John Robinson, now of Emery Cranfield; and by property of – E. Common Street of Great Barford S. and W. by property late of John Freshwater, now of Messrs Hogge and Company with rights and appurtenances To have and to hold: all land subject to proviso, payment of interest, that iii) can enter into them and receive rents and profits and to sell and dispose of lands Declared: receipts of Trustees (Sarah Davis) ii) covenant to make payments and observe rules in articles of Society – i.e. pay every monthly meeting of society interest on residue of £175 unpaid and will join in sale and conveyance (Matthew Mead) i) covenant and will grant hereditaments and premises ii) to keep it whilst any money due on security, insured from fire damage in name of trustee for £150, paying premium to County Sun, Norwich or Globe Fire Office Provided that if Society advances shares to ii) or iii) this covenant will apply to these shares Agreed between ii) and iii) that iii) have power of sale investing money from sale in securities authorised by Court of Chancery Endorsement: iii) to i) for £135 iii) to ii) for £40 witnesses: Hiram Heard, George F Morton (clerk to Solicitors), G F Simms, Charles Cooke signed: i), ii) 11 Apr 1865 Memorandum on back: Trusts created in indenture expired at sale of properties described and payment of balance of purchase money (less costs) to ii) under as Order of County Court of Bedfordshire 6 December 1883
