    Reciting: whereas: John Wotten, late of Great Barford, tailor in will 19 February 1766 devised unto wife Sarah Wootton 28 acres of ploughed land, meadows in Great Barford ... and assigns subject to payment of £60 to son William Wootton when attains age of 21 ... devised to said William Wootton 2 houses at Churchfield, and Green End in Barford; executors get rent to help bring up William Wootton. Wife Sarah and son Richard appointed executors whereas: John Wootton died; will proved by Sarah, wife, at Archdeaconry Court of Bedford 29 November 1766 whereas: Richard Wootton survived said brother William Wootton, possessed the said 2 houses whereas: Richard Wootton died intestate; leaving i) above as eldest son and heir whereas: ii) above agreed with i) for absolute purchase of fee simple and inheritance of messuages and grounds mentioned at price of £130 This Indenture Witnesseth in consideration of £130 to i), of which i) acknowledges receipt i) doth bargain and sale to ii), giving to ii) in consideration of 5s by lease of 18 August 1829 for 1 year until 18 August 1830 ... all these 2 messuages lately built at Herrings Close, 26 perches, heretofore property of William Franklin and awarded in exchange to Richard Wootton, deceased by commissioner of enclosure in Great Barford in lieu of tenement and garden in Church Field given up by Richard Wootton to Trinity College, Cambridge SE. and SW. Herrings Close awarded to John Robinson NW. Bedford Turnpike Road NE.
