    Henry Perkins: a farmer and parish constable of Whipsnade. On 8 October he searched the house of Charles Harrowell and found a sack underneath the bed upstairs. It was turned inside out. He pulled it out and turned it. He showed it to Mr Adams who identified it as his property. William Adams the younger: he resided with his father at Whipsnade Hall. He knew the sack produced to be his father’s property. The prisoner had been in his father’s service but had been discharged about hay time that year. Samuel Pope: he took the prisoner into custody on 8 October. Harrowell denied stealing the sack and said he had found it. Statement of the accused: nothing.
