Comments on 105 Middlesex prisoners: Soon after their admission and for several weeks afterwards the conduct of many of these men was of a very stubborn and resolute character, endeavouring in every way possible to thwart the authorities and set at defiance the Rules & Regulations of the prison, by obstinately refusing to work and committing other acts of insubordination, two cases of assault upon the officers and other acts of misconduct. Four boys have been removed to Beds Reformatory and two others to the convict prison at Parkhurst. William Roses alias Roberts and James Lord have been removed to the convict prison Millbank.
