- Scope and ContentMost of the County Prisoners have enjoyed good health during the various periods of their confinement, and those who have suffered from illness have usually recovered quickly, and left prison in improved health. This must be attributed, in great measure, to the good arrangements of the prison. The cells have been sufficiently warmed during the winter months and their ventilation always properly attended to. And the various articles of diet have been of good quality. With respect to Middlesex prisoners, the case has been somewhat different. The greater number of them, quite well when they arrived, have continued in good health. Others, of enfeebled or of broken down health have suffered severaly from their imprisonment. Three have been removed in consequence of their illness, and two of this number have died.
