- Scope and ContentGeorge P Livius, Timothy Fish Foord Bowes, Thomas Abbott Green. Ordered that the grave for the interment of the female prisoner [Sarah Dazeley] under sentence of death be dug on the east grass plot. Ordered that the practice of assembling the prisoners together for the purpose of witnessing the executions that take place in the prison be discontinued as it appears none of the rules for prison discipline require such a practice. The Matron has expressed a desire to be exempted from her duties in the prison for two or three days previous to the execution of the prisoner Sarah Dazeley and requests leave of absence for some few days, she states that her health is unequal to remain during the performance of the sentence and that she requires a change of air. The Visiting Justices do not feel that their authority extends to granting such request without a certificate fom her medical advisor.
