13 February George P Livius, Frederick H Neve. Mr Short the Surgeon expresses his opinion that the diet allowed to the prisoners is not sufficiently nutrative. It is ordered that an extra allowance be granted according to the directions of Mr Short until next Sessions. 20 February Stephen Thornton. 30 male prisoners, 3 female prisoners. Seven prisoners were sick. Inspector of Prisons had passed the principal part of Wednesday & Thursday and Friday last at the Gaol and proceeded afterwards to the New House of Correction.
