- Scope and ContentJohn Crawley: he was in partnership with his brother Frederick. The prisoner came to the shop and asked for 2 ribs of beef or a loin of pork for Mrs Fenwick of Stockwood. He said he had neither of them but if Mrs Fenwick wanted pork in particular he would send her part of a leg. If that would not do, the prisoner could bring it back. He gave the prisoner part of the leg of pork weighing 6 and a quarter pounds and a ticket in Mrs Fenwick’s name. The prisoner took them away and did not bring the meat back. Elizabeth Fenwick: housekeeper at Stockwood. On 14 June she did not send the prisoner to Mr Crawley’s. She had never sent him there. Statement of the accused: nothing to say.
