The 5th annual report of the Library 1834-5(See Li/Lib B1/2/1)records under the third anniversary meeting of 1833 the deposit of “some valuable MSS relating to the County (and which were lately the property of the Rev T O Marsh) by his Grace the Duke of Bedford”. The papers are also referred to in the 1837 library catalogue(Ref: Li/Lib B1/8/8 p19)as “in a very confused state and wholly without arrangement”.
