  • Scope and Content
Mann leases tithe of Leighton Buzzard of Lord Leigh. Millard had 55 wether sheep from summer 1765 until May 1766 (before shearing), then sold them and bought 37 others, which were then shorn. Millard offered Mann ½ tithe of 37 sheep, which was refused, Mann claims whole tithe of the 37 or a rateable tithe on both flocks. Opinion of R. Wilbrahams of Lincoln’s Inn: Court of Exchequer would allow tithe on 37 new sheepand a rateable tithe on 37 of the other 55, based on growth of wool only.
