  • Title
Letter from W Stuart of Watford to the Rev E R Williamson, secretary of Bedford Library Not overburdened with superfluous cash but cannot give a negative to what have wished to be established in Bedford[a proper library]. Suggests that lower part of building, of little use for the library, be let as a market house for the farmers. Had a plan drawn up by an architect for such a building, but after last election left too poor to pursue it. Will give £200 to Borough to purchase shares or otherwise further the plan. Offers £50 more as work progresses, but must not be relied upon.
