- Scope and ContentJames Cowland of Biggleswade – he is foreman to Mr Lindsell of Broom. On Dec 16 he passed by the shed where his master’s farming implements are kept and noticed the wheels had been taken off the [??] machine. From information received that morning he came to Biggleswade and found a pair of wheels in the possession of Sharpe the policeman. He can swear they are his master’s property. Henry Course of Biggleswade – last Tuesday or Wednesday Wills brought a pair of wheels to his shop and gave him discretion to make a truck for them which he did. He can swear the wheels produced by PC Sharpe are the same ones. George Sharpe of Biggleswade – from information received that morning (25 Dec) he apprehended Wills at the Black Swan in Biggleswade for stealing the wheels. He asked Wills what he had done with his truck. Wills said it was at a beer shop at Northill. He asked where Wills got the wheels – he said he bought them from someone he did not know. He went to the beer shop and found the truck with the wheels on it. William Wills – “I own I am guilty and I am very sorry for it”.
