- Scope and ContentJoseph Plummer of Luton, bleacher – on Thursday 11 Dec about 11am he had a quantity of line hung out to dry some plait on. He left it in a field he occupies in Luton. On Saturday 13 Dec he missed the line and did not see it again until yesterday when PC John Millard brought it to his house. He can identify it by its having several loops in it. John Millard of Luton, police constable – on Dec 21st he received information that Turney had stolen some savoys from James Parsons. He went to search Turney’s house and found a quantity of line in a box upstairs in his bedroom. On Monday 22nd he made enquiries and found several people had lost line. Plummer told him he had lost over 100 yards of line with several loose loops on it and 2 or 3 loops worked into the line. Plummer identified the line produced as his.
