    Daniel Allen of Houghton Regis, labourer – on Sunday 14 Dec about 6pm he fed his rabbit and locked it up in his barn at Bidwell. When he came home from work on Monday 15th his wife told him someone had drawn the stable out of the barn door and stolen the rabbit. From information received he went to Tilsworth to the house of William Moss where he found the rabbit. Thomas Moss of Tilsworth, labourer – about 7am on 15 Dec Godfrey called him into his [Godfrey’s] father’s barn at Bidwell and asked him to buy a rabbit. He bought it for 1s 2d and was to pay on the following Thursday. He took the rabbit home to his father’s house at Tilsworth.
