- Scope and ContentAlexander Field of Stevington, beer shop keeper – on 9 August at about 10pm he missed a piece of bacon weight 3 or 4 lbs and a dried pig’s cheek which had been hanging in the chimney corner of his house. Tibbott was in his house and left between 8 and 9. Tibbott had his cart with him and was hawking clothes. He went to Tibbott’s house at Bromham and looked in his cart. In a sack there he found the bacon and the pig’s cheek now produced. He went to Tibbott’s bedside and told him he was sorry he had taken the bacon. Tibbott said he was very sorry and if he did it he must have been very drunk. From what he noticed of Tibbott he did not appear to be drunk. Matthew Tibbott of Bromham – he is very sorry it happened, but he was very drunk.
