- TitleLEIGHTON BUZZARD: various skeletons discovered two miles south of the town centre at map reference 924228, known as Chapel Field by Bedfordshire County Council archæologists; they had been discovered in the footings of a chapel dating from 12th to 15th centuries; all the skeletons had their heads facing south and hands crossed on the abdominal region and were between 4’11” and 5’1” in height, two were in stone coffins; all were probably nuns from the convent known to have been situated there.
