    DUNSTABLE: 3 partial and 2 complete human skeletons found on 27 September 1969 during archaeological excavations at Friary Field, Dunstable; the excavator believed early Saxon settlers had cut into a prehistoric barrow whilst laying foundations for a building finding 3 skeletons, 2 of their own people, he believed, were then slaughtered and buried in the same spot as a propitiation; includes newspaper cutting relating to the find.
