- Scope and ContentMary Baxter: between 4 and 5pm on 13 November she had a tin boiler which she took off the fire and placed outside the door of her hut. She saw William Inskip loitering near the boiler. She went into the hut and was in there about 2 minutes, on coming out she discovered the boiler had been taken. She searched for it and could not find it. She gave the information to PC Pepper. PC Reuben Pepper: on 2 December he searched the house of William Inskip and in his clothes box he found the tin boiler. He showed it to Mrs Baxter who identified it as the property of her husband. Statement of the accused: it was no use to say anything.
