- Scope and ContentAnn Giddings: wife of Low Giddings, a farmer of Colmworth. The prisoner came begging to her house on 16 October and was in the yard when she first saw him. On the same evening she missed a pair of spectacles and a spectacle case from the table in the sitting room. Next morning she missed a knife from the mantel piece shelf in the kitchen. She had seen the spectacles earlier the day she had seen him in the yard. She had seen the knife that same morning. William Beach: a sergeant in the Bedfordshire Police and on 17 October he apprehended the prisoner in the parish of Roxton on the charge of stealing a pair of shoes. He searched him and found a knife, a pair of spectacles and a case. The prisoner said they were his own.
