Leighton Buzzard Primitive Methodist Circuit
Admin/biog history
Existed from c.1853, previously Newport Pagnell Mission. Appears to have been divided at some point, with some of the chapels which left the circuit later rejoining. The circuit was united with the Leighton Buzzard (formerly Wesleyan) Circuit (MB1/LB) in 1933 following the unification of the Primitive and Wesleyan Methodists.
Chapels: Billington (from 1863); Bletchley, Albert Street (from 1892); Bow Brickhill; Cranfield; Emberton (from c.1870); Fenny Stratford (by 1865); Hanslope; Heath and Reach (from 1863); Hockliffe (from 1861-2); Horton (c.1865); Husborne Crawley; Leighton Buzzard (Mill Road / North Street); Lidlington; Linslade (from 1861); Little Brickhill (from 1855); Marston Moretaine; Newport Pagnell; Potsgrove, Sheep Lane (from 1855); Ridgmont; Salford; Shenley Brook End (from 1867); Stanbridge (by 1869); Stantonbury (by 1865); Wavendon; Woburn Sands
Chapels in 1890: Leighton Buzzard (North Street); Billington; Fenny Stratford; Heath and Reach (closed 1901); Hockliffe; Linslade; New Bletchley; Stanbridge.
Lidlington, Wavendon and Woburn Sands were transferred to the circuit in 1918.
