- Scope and Content-- Brief for the Plaintiff: (Covering Bill and Answer). -- Plaintiff seeks recovery of deeds relating to 30 acres in Leighton Buzzard conveyed to Thomas Cheshire in January 1654/5 after sequestration of lands of Charles Leigh. In 1689 Honourable Charles Leigh brought suit versus John Cheshire in Chancery to recover, and agreement was reached that John Cheshire should hold property for life of Charles Leigh at a low rent. In 1703 John Cheshire leased property to Tarsey for 9 years at £8.6s. per annum. Charles Leigh settled property on plaintiff. Tarsey has attorned tenant to plaintiff (KK328), but John Cheshire has brought action of ejectment (1705). (See also KK528-9 below).
