(Reciting (1) surrender at court of 24 October 1710, dated 1 June 1700, by Thomas Townsend to use of will. (2) Will of same, 4 January 1709/10, devising to nephew Thomas Townsend (son of brother William) – messuage in Great Billington, close called Narboore, meadow in Longmead (5, ½ - yards), arable as above, cows commons in Summerleys and poles in Mill Fenns, in the occupation of Thomas Hull, except 3 acres arable, of which 1 acre in Hill or Chapel field in Between Towns furlong, (bought of cousin Thomas Townsend), 1 acre in Church Long, late of Thomas Townsend, and 1 land in 5 acres in Little field and 1 land in Little field, next the green. Also bequeathed to Thomas Townsend close called Ashbys on condition that he pays legacies. -- To cousin Joseph Townsend, cottage in Little Billington in the occupation of George Windsor, and Ballards Fenn close near water-mill. -- To cousin Richard Townsend (son of William senior) £30. -- To cousin Mary Hull’s three children, Thomas, Mary and Elizabeth £20 each. -- To cousin Thomas Baskerfield £100. -- To cousins Elizabeth and Sarah Townsend £20 each. -- To cousins Percy, Thomas and Philip Chandler (sons of Percy Chandler of London) £10 each To wife all estate for life, paying £10 per annum to nephew Thomas Townsend).
