  • Scope and Content
Sorry to hear he is unhappy & wishes to return home - urges him to remain. My first depandance on Thomas Day was a great misfortune, as nothing offer’d till increasing years made a state of subjection less tolerable, which render’d thy situation at Stortfold more disagreeable than it would have appear'd at the age of 14 … Billy reconciles himself to a state of almost continual employment without much variety. Jacky is not yet come back from Leighton: his activity is much admired : he bustles about the shop ... I heartily wish J. Grant may consent to take him ‘Prentice.
