- Scope and ContentLetter from Mark Pechell of Caddington Hall to Arthur Macnamara: “Thanks for your letter just handed to me by Lines. I am very sorry to hear of Lady Sophia’s accident and hope she will soon get over it. I am willing to accept your proposal of taking on House and grounds, shooting, and land I now hold on the same terms as before till Michaelmas 1884, but a Boiler must be put into Conservatory furnace at once, or all the plants will be ruined (had I gone in March next I should have written to you now & explained this). If you will supply the Boiler I will do the Bricklayers part of the business only let it be done at once. If you agree to this and will send me a line by Lines tomorrow, I shall set to work at once and plough my Land & consider myself as your Tenant for the time specified. Excuse scrawl but Lines is waiting”.
