    From: 1723 To: 1724
  • Scope and Content
[How addressed as brother (i.e. brother in law) rather than cousin] Wife has been ill over disappointment at not receiving lamb promised by How. Please send some by White directed to Mr. J. Findlay in Ampthill. Please to send also 2 or 3 civil oranges & lemons, & as I fear my reading to her a pretty deal of Adisons & Burnets discriptions of the Italian Mountains being covered with oranges, lemons & olives has a little influenced her inclinations for the latter. I intreat thee also to send a few of them in a small pot. I was within sight of thee when thee left Woburn but could not reach thee, my hackney horse being tired. Bella is bravely & I believe very easie.
