Scope and Content
i) Christopher Massingberde, prebendary of Leighton Buzzard.
ii) William Johnson of Leighton Buzzard gentleman.
Reversion (falling due in 1581). Of parsonage & prebend of Leighton Buzzard, with mansion house, all glebe lands, rents & profits of court & tithes. Except advowson of vicarage, and hall with two chambers & stables for 10 horses when the prebendary visits Leighton Buzzard. Rent to be paid at font of St. Pauls London.
Covnants : (i) To keep buildings & chancel in repair, but (ii) to repair ‘the mudde wallys of the sayd mansion buyldynges and edifices hornehigh’(sic).
i) To have liberty to dress meat in the kitchen & to have a place convenient for bread, meat & drink to be kept, on his visits.
