- TitleIndictment - Robert Appleby and William Peat of Maulden for (1) maliciously causing damage to one pear tree, one cherry tree, 3 apple trees, one plum tree, one grape vine, 6 gooseberrry trees, 6 currant trees and 6 raspberry trees growing in the garden of Charles Moore doing injury to the amount of £2; (2) cutting and damaging the trees with intent to steal doing injury to the amount of £2; (3) maliciously causing damage to 13 apple trees and 13 plum trees growing in the orchard of Charles Moore, doing injury to the amount of £2; (4) cutting and damaging the trees with intent to steal doing injury to the amount of £2; (5) maliciously causing damage to one cedar tree, one arbor vita tree, 20 rose trees and 50 shrubs, namely 20 laurels, 10 lilacs, 10 savins and 10 box trees growing in the pleasure ground of Charles Moore, doing injury to the amount of £2; (6) cutting and damaging the trees and shrubs with intent to steal doing injury to the amount of £2; (7) maliciously damaging all the above trees and shrubs, doing injury to the amount of £2. Robert Appleby previously convicted of felony. Plea each not guilty. Verdict guilty.
