  • Scope and Content
Glad to hear of good reception of Peter Schafter (Shepherd) & his receiving kindnesses from William Penn. Eccleston has asked "what quantity of R.B’s Apologies I have by me in Latine, High Dutch or Swedes, & whether I have made any step towards any correspondence with any of that persuasion in Germany. Stockholm or Finland”. Furley's library has been at disposal of friends visiting but he has received no correspondence: he only has 2 or 3 treatises written by Johanna Eleonora van Menlau, whom he had visited in 1677 in Frankfort &.who married Peterson, a Lutheran theologian who worked in Holstein but was deposed & now lives in Magdeburg Has 30 copies of R.B’s Apologies in High Dutch & several hundreds in Latin & English: it was never translated into Swedish – willing to send them to Stockholm or Germany.
