    containing: a)Poor Rate for Aspley Guise with protest of Ebenezer Keech, Overseer, against Rate. 1770 b) copy protest against Rate by many other inhabitants, “several live in poor houses or are not taxed tho’ not less able to pay than some of us...”. The rents are higher than formerly as 14 tenements have been pulled down making cottages scarce. c) copy protest by Richard How against Richard Hetley and Mathew Stevenson being made Overseers. The latter would thus get a settlement. 1771 d) copy protest by several inhabitants against Samuel Davis the Attorney’s bill being charged to the Rates. 1771
