    Recites: a) Indentures of fine George Favell & Thomas Spring & Elizabeth his wife - messuage, 1 cottage, 55 acres of land, 3 acres of meadow & 6 acres of pasture. Michaelmas Term 33 Charles II b) Indenture of feoffment endorsed with livery of Seisin John Spring and George Favell. Consideration £648 to Spring from Favell. - Messuage in tenure of John Rycroft. - Cottage called the Moor Cottage in the tenure of William Thomas. - 58 acres 1 rood of arable land, 1 acre 3 roods of meadow dispersed in the common fields and meadows of Great Barford and Roxton. 19 December 1681 c) Indenture between George Favell & Robert Capell. Consideration of £600 to Favell from Capell. Favell granted bargain sell and demise unto Capell. - The same parcels of land above. 24 March 1681 d) Probate of the will of Robert Capell. Gave his cousins George Favell and Walter Favell, the sons of his sister Jane Favell, all of his farm, occupied by Jane Bells. 18 October 1688, proved 4 April 1690 e) Indenture between Walter Favell and George Favell. Reciting indenture of demise of 24 March 1681 from George Favell to Robert Capell and default of payment of £600. Walter Favell had agreed to sell George Favell all of his estate right and interest in the premises. Consideration of £300 to Walter Favell from George Favell. - The same parcels of land above. 23 May 1698 f) Indenture between George Favell and Edward Betts. George Favell was by virtue of one or more lease on leases as the assignments. - 58 acres 1 rood of arable land, 1 acre 3 roods of meadow lying in the fields of Great Barford and Roxton. - Marriage intended between George Favell and Mary Betts. Favell did assign Edward Betts all arable land and meadow ground. Upon trust until the marriage to permit Favell to receive the rents, and Mary Betts during her life to receive the rents and profits of the land. 4 February 1704 g) Probate of the will of Edward Betts, bequeathing his personal estate to his wife Eleanor Betts. 5 October 1709, proved 7 March 1709 h) Indenture of lease and release between 1.John Parratt, one of the sons of Henry Parratt, & Henry Parratt & 2.Eleanor Betts, widow. In consideration of £345 to John Parratt and Henry Parratts by Eleanor Betts. - A close of pasture called Peaseall Close, 5 acres and 32 acres 2 roods of land in three fields in Great Barford. 18, 19 May 1712 i) Probate of the will of Eleanor Betts. Bequeathed all her lands pasture and meadow ground lying in the fields of Great Barford, then of her son in law George Favell unto her grandchildren Eleanor Favell, Mary Favell, Jane Favell and Margaret Favell, to be equally divided amongst them. George Favell and his wife Mary to be their guardians and trustees and residence of her estate to pass on to Mary Favell, her sole executive. 12 July 1717, proved 15 January 1717 j) Indenture of lease between John Parratt & Henry Parratt & George Favell. In consideration of £27 to John Parratt and Henry Parratt from George Favell, Henry Parratt did grant release unto Favell. - Arable land containing 10 acres laying in Great Barford. 30 September, 1 October 1713 k) Probate of will of George Favell. Devised all of his house where he then dwelt and lands thereto belonging to the cottage on tenement in the occupation of Richard Bancock to his two daughters Ellen and Mary and the child his wife was then carrying and for his affairs to be equally divided between them. If the child were a son, then he should inherit the cottage. His wife would receive and enjoy rent of said premises and the interest until his daughter should reach 21 or marry. The child was born a daughter, but died in the lifetime of the father. He then had two more daughters, Jane and Margaret. George Favell died in 1718. 31 July 1711, proved 27 August 1718 l) Indenture of lease and release between Mary Favell & Richard Willis & Banwell Collins & John Rust. Mary Favell by virtue of George Favell’s will was seized to her of half part. - All that and his house and houses, barns, stables, dove houses, granary, malting and all other, the outhouses, orchards, gardens and the same belonging to and all that cottage with the yards, orchards and cottage in tenement then in the occupation of Richard Bancock. - Mary Favell by virtue of her grandmother Eleanor Betts’ will was seized to her and her heirs a fourth part of all the lands, pastures and meadows in Great Barford purchased of Mr Parratt, then in the occupation of George Newman. - A marriage agreed between Mary Favell and Richard Willis. Mary did grant unto Collins and Rust all that on half part of all that, those her house and houses, barns, stables, dove houses, granary, malting and all other outhouses, yards, orchards and gardens and backsides then in the occupation of Mary Favell widow. And half part of all of her cottage on tenement with the yards, orchards, gardens, backsides, outhouses, barns, stables and all other apparels then in the occupation of Richard Bancock. - And also all of one fourth part of all the lands, pastures, and meadow ground lying in the fields of Barford, which were given in the will of Eleanor Betts, then in occupation of George Newman. - And also all of her assignment of lease of 58 acres 1 rood of arable land and 1 acre 3 roods of meadow ground lying in the common fields and meadows of Great Barford and Roxton. - To hold to Collins for the use of Mary and Richard. 8, 9 March 1730 m) Indenture of lease between Avery Wagstaffe & Eleanor Favell and John Davis & John Rust. In consideration of marriage intended between Avery Wagstaffe and Eleanor Favell and settling an indenture for Eleanor and assuming the lands did release to Davis. - All and every the lands tenements whereof Avery Wagstaffe seized in Great Barford and in Eaton Saxton. - And Eleanor Favell did grant Davis all and every the lands, tenements of Eleanor Favell in Great Barford and elsewhere in the county of Bedfordshire. - For use of Avery Wagstaffe and heirs. 23, 24 September 1737 n) Indenture between Richard Willis & Mary Favell widow & Avery Wagstaffe. In consideration of £63.15.3 to Willis from Wagstaffe. - All that his moiety on half part of all that farm house in Great Barford aforesaid and of the outhouses, maltings then in the occupation of Mary Favell, Richard Willis and Newman Hughes. And all of the cottage with the orchard called Moor Orchard in the occupation of William Singlehurst. And all of the ten acres of land purchased by George Favell. And all of the land of Richard Willis. 29 April 1739 o) Indenture between Mary Favell widow and Banwell Collins. Reciting will of Eleanor Betts that Mary Favell had married Richard Willis and had a son Richard and afterward died. In consideration of love and affection Mary had for Eleanor Wagstaffe, Richard Willis the son, Jane Favell and Mary Favell and in consideration of the marriage of Avery and Eleanor Wagstaffe and for the promotion of Richard Willis the son, Jane and Margaret Favell and Mary Favell did covenant with Collins that she would stand seized of one fourth part of said lands and grounds to Eleanor and Avery Wagstaffe. One fourth to the said Willis the son, one fourth to Jane Favell and one fourth to Margaret Favell. 3 December 1739 p) Henry Burgess and Jane his wife by lease conveyed one fourth of Peasewell Close and of 32 acres 2 roods purchased of George Favell of Parratt to Frances Favell widow who afterwards sold the above to Thomas Dickenson by whom it was devised to his nephew John Alder. 28, 29 July 1747 q) Indenture of lease between Henry Burgess and Jane his wife and John Waller. In consideration of £50 to Burgess and wife paid by Waller and wife did grant release unto Waller and heirs. - All that their or one of the undivided fourth parts the whole into four equal parts to be divided of and in all those 58 acres 1 rood arable land and a acre 3 roods meadow lying in the common fields of Great Barford and Roxton. 28, 29 March 1750 r) Indenture of feoffment between John Waller & John Truelove & Henry Burgess and wife Jane. - 2 messuages 28 acres land, 8 acres pasture. And of the fourth part 60 acres land, 2 acres meadow and common pasture for all cattle. Trinity Term 24 George 2nd s) By indenture between Mary Favell widow and the Favell family, and John Waller & Henry Trotter. Reciting the indenture of demise of 24 March 1681 that the several mesne assignments and acts had become vested in Mary Favell for her use. In consideration of 5 shillings to paid to Mary Favell by Trotter she did assign to Trotter. - The said land, meadow and pasture left by George Favell. t) Copy of the will of Richard Willis whereby he bequeathed all that his undivided moiety, of all that messuages on tenancy, malthouse land lying in Great Barford in the occupation of Edward Pinkett, Mary Favell, Samuel Aynseombe and Thomas Dickenson. All his messuages, and land unto his father Richard Willis of Elstow. And also give to his father all his personal estate. 30 November 1758 u) Letters reciting Richard Willis had died without having proved his will. That Richard Willis living in Scarborough was the natural and lawful nephew and next of kin. 13 June 1796 v) Original will of Mary Favell attested by two witnesses whereby she gave all the goods, chattels and estate unto her daughter Margaret Favell. Not proved. 19 August 1768 w) By indenture of lease between John Waller & Leonard Waller. In consideration of £300 John Waller granted Leonard Waller. - All that undivided fourth part of 58 acres 1 rood arable land and 1 acre 3 roods meadow in the fields of Great Barford and Roxton, one of them in the occupation of Thomas Dickenson, therefore purchased by John Waller and of Joseph Burgess ad his wife. 1, 2 August 1768 x) Attested copies of indentures of lease between William Cumming and Thomas Taylor. In consideration of £342 to Waller from Cumming and in consideration of 5 shillings paid by Taylor, Waller did grant released unto Cumming and Taylor. - One undivided fourth part of 58 acres 1 rood arable land, 1 acre 3 roods meadow, one of them in occupation of Thomas Dickenson. 14, 15 April 1773 y) Indentures of lease and release between William Cumming and Thomas Taylor and Margaret Favell. In consideration of £165.5.0 to Cumming, and 5 shillings to Taylor paid by Favell and by his direction, Taylor did grant bargain sell and unto Margaret Favell. - One undivided fourth part of 58 acres 1 rood arable land and 1 acre 3 rood meadow. 10, 11 May 1773 z) Probate of the will of Margaret Favell attested by three witnesses. She gave devised and bequeathed all her freehold and leasehold lands, tenements and estate lying in Great Barford to Mary Wagstaffe. 5 February 1781, proved 2 May 1798 A) Goods and chattels of Richard Willis late of Elstow, granted to his wife Elizabeth Willis his widow. 25 June 1782 B) Indenture of lease and release and release between Wingfield Richard Willis of Scarborough and only son of Wingfield Willis who was the only surviving son of Richard Willis the elder of Elstow by Elizabeth his second wife and the said Wingfield Richard Willis being the grandson and heir of the Richard Willis who was devisee in the last will and testament of Richard Willis, the only child and of Richard Willis the elder and Mary his wife, one of the daughters of George Favell & Eleanor Finningley & William Townsend. - Reciting that George Betts and Eleanor Betts seized of to a messuage, cottage and parcels of land, meadow and pasture in Great Barford and Roxton. - Reciting that certain undivided parts of the same came to be vested in Mary and Richard Willis the elder. Richard Willis the younger became entitled to the same parts and shares. - The same shares came to be vested in Eleanor Wagstaffe and Thomas Wagstaffe, her only son. - Reciting Wingfield Richard Willis being so entitled to parts and shares of Richard Willis the younger and Richard Willis the elder and the rents and profits thereof received by Thomas Wagstaffe agreed to sell his rights, for £200 to Wingfield Richard Willis from Thomas Wagstaffe. - All that messuage in Great Barford then in tenancy of John Rycroft. And all that cottage then called Moor Cottage in the tenure of William Thomas. And that of all 58 acres 1 rood arable land and 1 acre 3 roods meadow. And also 10 acres arable land lying in the Further North Field. And also that 5 acres close of pasture called Peaseall Close. Also 32 acres and a half of arable land lying in Great Barford and the fields called Mill Field, Langley Field and Little Field, the lands Eleanor Betts purchased from John and Henry Parratt. And also the messuages cottage and parts and shares of the late Richard Willis the elder and Richard Willis the younger. - For Thomas Wagstaffe to hold and acknowledged levy of William Townsend. 30, 31 August 1796 C) Thomas Wagstaffe died and without spouse leaving his only sister Mary, the wife of John Parker and his heir at law Mrs Bridget Wagstaffe his widow. August 1800 D) By indenture between John Parker and Mary his wife, the sister of Thomas Wagstaffe and Joseph Halstead. In consideration of 5 shillings paid to John and Mary Parker by Halstead. - Messuage of tenement in Great Barford. Orchard and close of pasture adjoining and belonging 2 acres with the dove house and other buildings occupied by James Duncombe. And the cottage on tenement called the Moor Cottage then in tenancy of Francis Ing. And the Moor Orchard. And close of pasture called Peasewell Close. And all those closes, pieces and parcels of arable land, Meadow pasture, an estimated 92 acres also in the tenure of James Duncombe. And also the messuage tenement on farm house with the close pieces and parcels of land, meadow pasture in Great Barford and Roxton, occupied by Thomas Freshwater and John Freshwater, estimated 145 acres. And all that close of pasture, parcel of arable land in Eaton Saxon with 4 acres in the tenure of ------- Dennis. And all other freehold lands. -For the use of John Parker and his wife Mary. To the use of Joseph Halstead, during the lives of John and Mary Parker. 16 February 1801 E) Indenture of feoffment between Joseph Halstead and John Parker and his wife Mary. - Two messuages, 2 cottages, 250 acres of land, 30 acres meadow, 20 acres of common pasture for cattle in Great Barford, Roxton and Eaton Saxon. Hilary Term 41 George 3 F) By indenture of lease and release the release between Elizabeth Bootle widow, one of the grandchildren of George Favell & Joseph Halstead & John Parker. John Parker and his wife, Mary, claimed to be in her right entitled to and were in the actual possession of a messuage of tenement in Great Barford with a malthouse, barns, stables, outhouses, garden, orchard and close of meadow and pasture belonging to a cottage of tenement in Great Barford, therefore in occupation by Richard Barcock, then called Moor Cottage with the outhouses, gardens, orchards belonging and of £28.0.0 on thereabouts residue of £37.2.0 land and pasture and 10 acres land bought by Eleanor Betts from John and Henry Parratt in the further North Field. - Elizabeth Bootle claimed to be entitled to one moiety of one individual twelfth part (that is to say one moiety of one fourth of one third) of the messuage, cottage, malthouse, outhouses, yard, gardens, orchards and close the said messuage and cottage belong. And also claimed to be entitled to one moiety of one fourth part of one third of the £37.2.0 of land and pasture and to one moiety of one 4th part of the said 10 acres of land. - Elizabeth Bootle had agreed to a sale of her part to Parker and wife for the price of £40. In consideration of £40 paid to Elizabeth Bootle by John and Mary Parker and 5 shillings paid to Joseph Halstead, Elizabeth Bootle did grant bargain sell and release to Halstead. 14, 15 September 1801 G) By indenture of lease and release of release between Jane Burgess and Joseph Halstead and John Parker and his wife Mary. Jane Burgess had agreed sale of her shares for £40. In consideration of £40 paid to Jane Burgess by John and Mary Parker and 5 shillings paid to Burgess paid by Halstead, Burgess did grant bargain sell to Halstead - All the part and share parts and shares of her Ann Burgess of and in the same parcels. 14, 15 September 1801 H) Letters of Henry Trotter with his will annexed by the Prerogative Count of Canterbury to William Townsend. 26 March 1802 I) By indenture between William Townsend of the goods, chattels and credits of Henry Trotter (unadministered by Edward Pemberton, John Hearn and Eunice Allen), John Parker and Mary Parker who were in right of said Mary seized an absolute power of appointment of the inheritance of the land, meadow, and also between William Wilshere. In consideration of 5 shillings to Townsend paid by Wilshere by the direction of Parker and wife did bargain sell of sign transfer to Wilshere. - All the land and meadow and other land mentioned in the indenture of 24 March 1681. 27 March 1802
